The providers in our office are in network with BCBS and Aetna.

Questions to Consider when checking your benefits for In-Network coverage:

    • Find the member services number on the back of your insurance card. Use this number to call member services to ask the following questions:

    • Does my plan cover nutrition counseling using the following CPT codes: 97802 and 97803.

    • Does my plan cover visits that are only medically necessary OR do they cover visits that are preventative and use a diagnosis code of Z71.3?

    • When do my benefits begin and what date do they end?

    • Are there restrictions to the number of nutrition counseling visits in a calendar year? If there is a limit to the number of visits per year, check to see how many visits you have left for the “year” of your current benefit period.

    • Do I have to meet a deductible first to receive coverage for nutrition counseling? If so, how much of my deductible have I met at this time, and when does this year begin and end?

    • Will my plan cover telehealth visits?

    • Do I need a physician’s referral to receive coverage?

Out of Network

We are considered an out of network provider with all other insurance companies currently. Some insurance companies will reimburse a portion of the fee that you pay for nutrition therapy services. You are responsible for paying the full session fee at the time of the appointment; however, on request, we are able to provide an itemized superbill (receipt) for you to submit to your insurance company. Potential reimbursement is determined by your individual plan with your insurance provider.
