Eating Disorder Care

Disordered Eating

Have you or your child just been diagnosed with an Eating Disorder? We can work to help calm the storm. We have extensive practice working with all types of disordered eating including Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), Orthorexia, and other forms of disordered eating.

We will work to compassionately meet you where you are, help you understand your diagnosis, reconnect with your body, and find peace with food and yourself. When working with children and adolescents, we work tirelessly to equip the family unit to battle a child’s eating disorder and find healing often through family based therapy. We readily partner with physicians and therapists to provide holistic support through the healing process.

arfid

ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) is more than just picky eating. Often clients with ARFID are limited in the amount and/or types of foods they can accept. Clients with ARFID may be limited in their food choices by phobias, texture aversions, or sensory concerns, which can result in poor weight gain, poor growth, and/or nutritional deficiencies. Katie has extensive practice gently guiding clients with ARFID as they navigate the specific challenges this disorder brings.intuitive eating

INTUITIVE EATING

Are you tired of the endless diet cycle? We can help you reconnect with your body and food and learn how to nourish and care for it. Intuitive Eating is a nutrition philosophy that focuses on internal hunger and fullness cues to regulate appetite and weight, instead of diets. It is a weight neutral approach that focuses on health being determined by criteria such as mood, energy, sleep, labs, and hormones instead of weight targeted goals. Intuitive eating is designed to help individuals heal from a history of dieting while fostering one’s ability to reconnect with, and trust their body.
